bio
I am a freelance writer and journalist who has written on arts & culture and New York City life for "The City" section of The New York Times, Daily News, City Limits, The Brooklyn Paper, The Forward, BUST, Venus, Poets & Writers, among others. Some recent topics I've covered include spay/neuter programs for urban animals, the death of trees in Brooklyn, the sign lady of Brooklyn Heights, the hipster doctor of Williamsburg, Suzanne Vega, the "Jewish Sylvia Plath," novelist Jennifer Egan, and the symptomatic neuroses among authors looking to promote their books. Check out my clips.

I also spent seven years in the book publishing industry on both the editorial and publicity side, and received my Master's degree at the CUNY Graduate School of Journalism in December 2008. I'm a native New Yorker and currently live in Brooklyn.
